On this page of our guide, we will show you our recommended base layout for Town Hall 6 in Clash of Clans. The layout is optimized for protecting your resources and trophies from an attacking player. The guide has been updated for the January 26 release which gives this level 2 Air Defenses to use.
The December 2015 update brought two major changes that impact base layouts for everyone. The first major change is that the Town Hall will no longer give you a shield if it’s destroyed in combat and the second is that the Town Hall gives an attacking player significantly more loot when it’s destroyed. As a result, you’ll now need to protect the building rather than placing it outside of your base for a free shield.
TH6 Base Layout
The base layout was designed by HaVoC Gaming.
TH6 Base Summary
Town Hall 6 had a lot of trouble with air attacks prior to the recent update. Mass Dragons were a very easy way to 3 star a TH6 base without any effort. Now that the base has 2 Air Defense towers it will be a lot harder for an attacking player to easily 3 star you.
The base is designed to force air attacks to come from two main directions.
The first is coming through the north via the Air Sweeper tower. If an opponent attacks from this path they’ll have a hard time clearing out your Clan Castle and one of the Air Defense towers will be heavily protected behind your Town Hall.
The second likely attack path is from the south through the Clan Castle. If an attacker chooses this path they’ll have an easier time taking out your Clan Castle but a very difficult time taking out your Air Defense towers. The Air Sweeper would push air units away from them and one of the towers is placed strategically behind the Town Hall. The location behind the Town Hall makes it very hard for an attacker to specifically target with troops.
The base does a very good job against ground troops at this level. There’s a lot of potential to funnel the enemy troops into tight areas along the outer ring of your base. When enemy troops are grouped up in tight areas it makes them extremely vulnerable to your Wizard Towers and Mortars.
There’s really only one main attack path for this base and it’s through the south towards the Clan Castle. If an attacker chooses this path they’ll have a difficult time dealing with the Mortar at the top of your base. It’s located behind your Town Hall and it will be hard for an attacker to destroy it.
